PALIN: Well, you know, it wasn't just me saying there were death panels in Obamacare back in 2010, I mean anybody who could read could read into that, it's a faceless bureaucratic panel that will decide based on a human being's level of productivity, a subjective and political decision being made as to whether they deserve medical care or not. Yes, that little girl is a prime example of a bureaucrat being able to make that decision. It's a scary thing.

HANNITY: And now even Howard Dean is acknowledging this. Howard Dean? What did you make of the op-ed that he had out there?

PALIN: I haven't read his op-ed. I haven't wasted my time on it. I think I, and others, wasted too much time listening to the liberal pundits a few years ago when they said that was the biggest lie of the year, my claim that death panels were a part of Obamacare and the rationing of health care services. And now that has been proven to be true. I guess I could say, ungraciously that I appreciate Howard Dean acknowledging it, finally.

Conservative (i.e. Correct) Analysis Of The PPP (Dem) Palin Vs Begich Senate Poll

PPP Polling is a leftist polling outfit (obsessed with same-sex marriage polls) which takes every chance they can to denigrate Sarah Palin.  There may be some same-sex background to this or just straight out bias as would be expected form the Daily Kos pollster but whatever the reason, the anti-Palin bias reflects poorly on what purports to be a professional outfit.

For example, in the poll on the Alaska Senate race, PPP's Tom Jensen  states that "Palin is hated by Alaskans with a 59% disapproval rating" but then goes on to advise that President Obama is simply "an obstacle in Alaska with a 59% disapproval rating." Those sentences put PPP into perspective.

It must be fairly stated that in the nationwide presidential election PPP did extremely well getting a near perfect result in their final state by state predictions in the Obama versus Romney race. 

However on the state and senate level they often go massively awry, (they predicted Cruz and Sanford would lose for example) and there is no reason to take their Alaska poll seriously when they advise that Senator Begich would "take 20% of GOP votes if Palin ran against him." Even on their head to head polling it would only take a normal shift of the "20%" back to the GOP on election day, especially if it was clear that control of the senate hinged on the Alaska result, for Palin to win. Here is a good point in respect of the poll's bias;

What can be taken from the poll is that if PPP states that Palin is the choice of Republicans for the senate nomination, then she surely is. The idiots on the left who are carping that Palin has only 36% support can't see that if she runs and Miller pulls out, which would be likely, then the majority of his conservative support would go to her and she would be near or above 50%..

The Alaskan-Senate PPP Poll Proves Governor Palin’s Point

PPP released a poll today which focuses on the 2014 Alaskan-Senate race.  The fact that the mainstream media is using it to create “Palin” headlines proves why she was right recently when she told Sean Hannity that the GOP needed the right candidate to take down Senator Mark Begich.

It’s apparent that Republicans in Alaska believe Governor Palin is far more capable to face Begich than the other GOP choices put to them.  She leads the others by a 10 point margin.  Another poll conducted by another firm a few months back proved the same thing.

But what the poll also shows is that all of the Republican contenders – at this point – fall short of Begich in a general matchup creating the impression that he’ll coast to an easy reelection.

There are a few points to ponder here.

First, general election match-ups this early aren’t much to measure for anything long term.  Governor Palin stated that we needed a formidable and capable candidate for good reason.  As it stands right now, most Alaskans are under the false impression that Mark Begich is an independent.  The Alaskan Chameleon has received more media attention for being a Democrat who occasionally dissents from his party in D.C. than he has for being a liberal who voted for ObamaCare or amnesty for millions of illegals.

The facts are simple.

A.)  Begich won by the skin of his teeth in 2008 only after Ted Stevens was under massive investigation (the late Stevens was cleared on all of that after the election.)

B.)  Since then, Senator Begich has voted with Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid 90% of the time.

C.)  Alaska is a solid red state.

The candidate who faces him in the general election will have to be able to effectively transcend the perception of Begich being an independent as the utter hogwash it actually is by exposing him as the chameleon who votes one way occasionally, but the wrong way most of the time.  And even though the points above prove that it’s completely possible, it just hasn’t been done yet as the right candidate to officially jump in has yet to surface.

As this poll proves, Alaskan Republicans know that Governor Palin’s record as a reformer, campaigner, and a fighter proves she’d easily fit the "right candidate" mold if she chose to do it.  She could also be very instrumental in helping another candidate yet to surface.  And the media’s use of a poll which focuses on many facets of an entire race only to turn around to make the headlines all about her proves it, too.

Either way where Governor Palin is concerned, it’s game on for the Alaskan Chameleon.

Another point to add is that Public Policy Polling has a severe liberal bias. They always claim the most Conservative candidates have no chance of winning in the General elections: in reality Palin would destroy Begich.

Yes many believe this.  I also believe Gov. Palin could win hands down.  Yet, I wanted to take the opportunity to explain Governor Palin’s broader point about replacing Begich.  Because of the perception as his being an independent by many, the right candidate with the ability of effective messaging will need to expose the real truth regarding his big government voting record.  The announced candidates thus far seem to lack that.

No, really – and so were a great many ladies of certain age of my acquaintance, many of them actively employed or retired from a lifetime of work at it, some of them in defiantly non-traditional specialties and living arrangements. Intelligent, hard-working, 

happily and bountifully married, popular in her district and among those she had served and who had elected her, outdoors-loving and a partner in hubby’s enterprises, educated in much the same way that I was – community college and upper division at a state school? 

Hey, what wasn’t to like? A serious woman in serious business, and about to ascend politically as had not been seen since Gerry Ferrero in ’84. Well, as Bertie Wooster would have said in a much more innocent age and place, “Huzzah! Huzzah, and Huzzah again!” 

A woman in the second highest political place in the land! A woman’s place is in the House … and Senate … and in the VP’s office. Women-power has arrived, baby! Alas, not to be, for it seemed that Sarah Palin was Not The Right Kind, Darling, and the blowback was vicious beyond anything that I had ever seen, save maybe the savaging of LBJ in the late 60’s. 

The upper-class, establishment-elite, academic, and capital-F feminists were the most vicious of all. So much for sisterhood, ladies; not what I assumed feminism would be – what you have is Mean Girls writ large and nationally. So sad, ladies – it seems that the women’s movement, despite all claims to the contrary by the officially-declaimed mouthpieces summoned up by the established media/entertainment orgs, is only for the benefit of the properly anointed. The rest of us are on our own. We have the support of husbands, churches, communities and friends, I guess. But not the anointed Official Capital-F Feminists.

Armed with her "redneck whiteboard," Gov. Palin appeared on Fox News' "On The Record" Friday night and discussed the Obama Administration's recent spate of scandals with host Greta Van Susteren:


The former Alaska governor revealed that one reason the nation is being subjected to these scandals is rooted in the restrictions John McCain's campaign handicapped her with when she was the Arizona Senator's running mate in 2008. Off limits, the governor explained, were topics such as Obama's thin resume and his connections to confessed domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and pro-Marxist pastor Jeremiah White. “I was not allowed to talk about things like that because those ‘elitists,’ those who are the brainiacs in the GOP machine, running John McCain’s campaign at the time said that the media would eat us alive if we brought up these things,” she said. Saddling the campaign with such restrictions, Gov. Palin argued, led to Obama's election, reelection and ultimately the scandals.

"Which one does he, specifically, consider a phony scandal?" the Mama Grizzly asked, referencing conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg, who asked the same question. She claimed that it was no coincidence that Obama and members of his White House staff are using the same phrase. "It is all coordinated," she added.

Gov. Palin likened the administration's tactics regarding the scandals to a basketball team's stall play, running out the clock and "hogging the ball," a style of play the former high school state champion point guard called "cowardly." When they see the tactic employed, she said, "the crowd gets up and leaves." But not the media. "The media will stick with him," she predicted, because "they are part of the problem." The 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate declared, "Americans are smarter than what the lamestream media gives them credit for." Continuing with her basketball analogy, Mrs. Palin observed that the media is supposed to act as a referee, "but they won't do their jobs." The media, she said, are "lapdogs" for Obama and his administration.

I was honored to attend a great event today in South Dakota with farmers from all over the country. I’m heading home now, but just wanted to encourage you to tune into Greta Van Susteren's “On the Record” tonight. She’ll be showing a video of one of the four victims killed in Benghazi. So often people in these tragic events become just statistics, but they deserve more. The video really humanizes one of them. He was a real person, not a nameless statistic.

Palin boarding the flight to South Dakota. She graciously spent a significant amount of time on a crowded rope line at the event before and after her keynote speech delivered just a few hours ago.

New Republic's John Judis's Brilliant Analysis Of Palin's RNC Speech And Perot Voter Appeal; Key To 2016

New Republic Senior Editor John B. Judis gave his views on Sarah Palin's momentous address to the 2008 Republican National Convention just after her speech. Judis made some sharp, pithy and right on the mark comments. And in particular, in answering his colleague Michael Crowley's questions, showed amazing prescience. Of course given the immediacy of the moment, some of Judis's negative remarks were not entirely prophetic, but were understandable given his liberal bias.

For example, the supposed "scandals" that Palin was purportedly involved in in Alaska turned out to be media and leftist blow-ups. But in one area Judis made a comment which is now entirely relevant to the 2016 election. When questioned by Crowley if he thought that Palin's attacks on candidate Obama were "too negative" Judis replied with an important observation:

 "I was thinking afterwards, what kind of voter would Palin appeal to? Who would actually  be moved by this? The kind of voter I was thinking about was the Perot voter, especially the 1996 Perot voter. Very anti-government, very sceptical of Washington. And I think her message would appeal to some of those voters- and some of them live in places like Ohio."

After Mitt Romney's loss in 2012 there has been substantial analysis of why he lost, and how the next Republican candidate could do better. This has taken the form of two different lines of thought. One, supported by "The Gang Of Eight" and in particular Marco Rubio, sees an appeal to Hispanic voters as providing the winning numbers. Not only for 2016, but far into the future to counter the eventual, as they see it, legalization of the multi-millions of illegals and their children.

The other viewpoint, as presented especially by Sean Trende at Real Clear Politics LINK, is that if the millions of White voters who sat out the McCain and Romney candidacies, can be motivated by a populist, Perot-ite candidate. That, plus the most probable drop off in Black voters after President Obama retires, would be enough to win the key marginal states like Ohio.

Judis, as seen below in this 2008 post convention video, clearly identified the Perot voter as important, and saw Sarah Palin as having a particular appeal to them. 

If Palin is the 2016 GOP standard bearer, and especially if teamed with an Hispanic such as Senator Cruz, or New Mexico Governor Martinez, would have an outstanding chance of strikingly increasing the White and Hispanic support, and could win the White House with the states indicated in the map below.
