Her sharply sarcastic statement (scroll down for full text), posted on her Facebook page as usual, followed President Obama's latest global update on his unusually long deliberations over what he describes as a minor reaction to Syria's use of chemical weapons against Syrians. Fifty-three weeks ago Obama drew a red line in the sand, saying:

"We have been very clear to the Assad regime but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is; we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized. That would change my calculus; that would change my equation.”

And I’m the idiot?” - Sarah Palin * President Obama wants America involved in Syria’s civil war pitting the antagonistic Assad regime against equally antagonistic Al Qaeda affiliated rebels. But he’s not quite sure which side is doing what, what the ultimate end game is, or even whose side we should be on. Haven’t we learned? WAGs don’t work in war. * We didn’t intervene when over 100,000 Syrians were tragically slaughtered by various means, but we’ll now intervene to avenge the tragic deaths of over 1,000 Syrians killed by chemical weapons, though according to the White House we’re not actually planning to take out the chemical weapons because doing so would require “too much of a commitment.” * President Obama wants to do what, exactly? Punish evil acts in the form of a telegraphed air strike on Syria to serve as a deterrent? If our invasion of Iraq wasn’t enough of a deterrent to stop evil men from using chemical weapons on their own people, why do we think this will be? * The world sympathizes with the plight of civilians tragically caught in the crossfire of this internal conflict. But President Obama’s advertised war plan (which has given Assad enough of a heads-up that he’s reportedly already placing human shields at targeted sites) isn’t about protecting civilians, and it’s not been explained how lobbing U.S. missiles at Syria will help Syrian civilians. Do we really think our actions help either side or stop them from hurting more civilians? * We have no clear mission in Syria. There’s no explanation of what vital American interests are at stake there today amidst yet another centuries-old internal struggle between violent radical Islamists and a murderous dictatorial regime, and we have no business getting involved anywhere without one. And where’s the legal consent of the people’s representatives? Our allies in Britain have already spoken. They just said no. The American people overwhelmingly agree, and the wisdom of the people must be heeded. * Our Nobel Peace Prize winning President needs to seek Congressional approval before taking us to war. It’s nonsense to argue that, “Well, Bush did it.” Bull. President Bush received support from both Congress and a coalition of our allies for “his wars,” ironically the same wars Obama says he vehemently opposed because of lack of proof of America’s vital interests being at stake. * Bottom line is that this is about President Obama saving political face because of his “red line” promise regarding chemical weapons. * As I said before, if we are dangerously uncertain of the outcome and are led into war by a Commander-in-chief who can’t recognize that this conflict is pitting Islamic extremists against an authoritarian regime with both sides shouting “Allah Akbar” at each other, then let Allah sort it out.

"Sarah Palin is using Facebook as a platform to draw attention to what Allahpundit calls a “portrait of a bureaucratic nightmare.”

A little girl’s dying from cystic fibrosis and has three to five weeks to live unless she gets a lung transplant before then. The good news is that adult lungs can be modified for a child her age in a way that’ll save her life — except that, because she’s only 10, she’s not eligible for them. The “adult” list starts at 12; everyone younger than that goes to the children’s list, where lungs are much harder to come by. The question is, does Sebelius have the authority to suspend those age limitations and make the girl, Sarah Murnaghan, eligible for an adult transplant?

I honestly don’t know the answer. Murnaghan’s parents say Sebelius’s authority is clear; Sebelius herself claims that HHS’s lawyers have told her she can’t do it. A life hangs in the balance.

Heartbreaking.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says all she can do is order a review of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network’s policy. Republican lawmakers contend that Sebelius has “the ability and the authority to intervene.”

In her full Facebook post, Palin slammed the administration for targeting journalists and patriots while refusing to “bend the rules” to ensure 10-year-old Sarah a shot at life.

The government will bend the rules left and right to harass targeted taxpayers, conservative patriots, selected journalists, etc., but it will strictly exercise inconsistent and subjective rules to deny a child a shot at life. And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?

The AP reports that “Sarah’s transplant doctors say she is medically eligible for an adult lung.” It’s the bureaucratic tangle snaring Sarah Murnaghan and her family.

As Ace writes, this “demonstrates why who lives and who dies should not be part of the political process.”

As always, clinging bitterly to hatred for Sarah Palin is more important than just about anything … including the life of a young girl.

Sarah Murnaghan expected to leave hospital after high-profile lung transplant

Sarah Murnaghan, a 10-year-old girl with Cystic Fibrosis, became the poster child for how bureaucratic rules can interfere with decisions that should be made between a doctor and patient.

San Francisco Gate reported today that Sarah's mom, Janet, said that her daughter "had been taken off oxygen, although she still gets support from a machine that helps her breathe, and has started to walk with the aid of a walker." A family spokesperson said Murnaghan could be leaving the hospital this week.

Sarah's case made national headlines when she was refused to be on the list for an adult lung due to national rules, despite the opinion of her physicians that they could save her life with such an intervention. In June, doctors gave her "weeks to live," as reported by John Hayward ofHuman Events.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius famously told Rep. Lou Barletta during a House hearing,

"I would suggest, sir, that, again, this is an incredibly agonizing situation where someone lives and someone dies." Would Sebelius have had the same opinion if President Obama's child was sick, for example?

Thankfully, Sarah Murnaghan was given a second chance at life after a federal judge intervened, allowing the little girl to receive the lung transplants.

But it should never have come to this.

Physicians should not be stifled by rules made by those who paint all patients with a wide brush. The situation is reminiscent of the Death Panel debate that raged on while President Obama was busy trying to push through the unpopular Affordable Care Act known as ObamaCare.

During the debate in 2009, Sarah Palin expressed concern over Medicare paying for "optional" conversations about advance directives, end of life care, and living wills. The complicit mainstream media focused on her "death panel" phrase in reference to the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). PolitiFact even made "Death Panels" their "lie of the year," but they did not attack former DNC chair Howard Dean, who wrote in the Wall Street Journal last month that the IPAB is "essentially a health-care rationing body," which is exactly the point that was being made by Sarah Palin.

Governor Palin Hits Highest Favorability Poll Rating Since 2009 At 55.30%

Sarah Palin continues her seemingly inexorable polling rise as this analysis from 
Election Meter.com (link at end of this page) shows.Over the 360 day polling period Palin has risen 5.42 points from 49.85%  to her current 55.28%

On the heels of Sarah Palin being found-by a left wing polling outfit PPP Polling LINK to be the favoured candidate, by far, by Alaska's Republicans to oppose Senator Begich in 2014, Palin's latest EM poll rating finds her at heights not seen in four years-55.28% Approval. 

In the Alaska PPP poll, Palin's favourable rating with Republicans was 65%-20 points higher than her nearest possible polled opponent and an increase on the Harper poll in May.

This result is mirrored and reinforced by the cross tabs at the most recent 2013 CNN/ORC poll, presuming that the responders in this new Election-Meter.com LINK poll are mostly Republicans

The most important factor in the CNN poll LINK was an indicator of Palin's support from those who count-i.e. Republican voters. How did she fare with that group? Palin had a 58%-36% favorability ratio. The EM result, presumingly including some non-Republicans is 55.28%-44.72% (rounded in graph to 53%)

This result follows on from PPP Polling earlier finding that Sarah Palin was more popular, by far, than any of the declared GOP candidates in the 2012 primary campaign, with a 68% approval rating 

 and a net positive rating of +48. AT THIS LINK

"one interesting finding on this poll was that Sarah Palin is far more popular than any of the actual Republican candidates . Her net favorability is +48, with 68% of voters rating her favorably to only 20% with a negative opinion. That compares favorably to +29 for Santorum, +19 for Romney, and -26 for Paul.

Palin is someone GOP delegates might be able to unify around in the case of a hopelessly deadlocked convention. She is seen positively by Gingrich voters (85/7), Santorum supporters (80/10), and Romney ones (57/27) alike. "

Now today's poll result at Election Meter.Com has her approval also at a significant level. 

The new 6000+ aggregate vote EM Poll gives Palin a 55.28% approval rating. This is her fourth rating above 45% by one point or more increases in this poll since 2010, and shows the long struggle against media distortion she has had to undertake. Still, the slow and steady rise continues-as Palin's polling over the last year indicates clearly.

Undertake the long struggle she has done indeed, and her tenacity seems to finally be paying, off as voters now are seeing her in a substantially positive light again.The following factors may also have been significant contributors to her continuous rise

Her strong statements on President Obama's handling of  the economy during and after the 2012 election have clearly elicited a  positive response. Voters look for strength of character and unwavering conviction which, whether one agrees with her views or not, Palin has in abundance

Her winning endorsements for high profile campaigns e.g. Deb Fischer's come from behind Senate primary wins, and Ted Cruz's remarkable rise in Texas- both of whom won their general election campaigns all with Palin's support. The perceived unfairness to Palin by the Romney team in hiring someone who has spoken negatively about to run his campaign, and of course their stonewalling Palin being invited to the Tampa convention

Yes certainly, the Election Meter poll is an on-line poll and can be discounted to a degree because of that. However, when Palin was at her absolute nadir in this poll in 2010 at 19.2% her enemies would have seized on it as being representative of a general feeling. 

There is some degree of validity to that view, although it is distorted and extreme, but on the other hand the steady, seemingly inexorable rise since then must also reflect a wider reality-which will of course be ignored by her enemies.

The longer term graphs which, because of the time frame involved, must be valid in the wider context they support. Surely the absolute polling height of 72% in 2008 was a genuine reflection of reality at that time.

If you are among those who think the GOP needs to drop its pro-life stance so as not to be accused of some bogus "war on women," you, too, might not want to watch this. If you are sold on the idea that a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz can take it all in 2016, you're likely to not like what he has to say, so you might not want to watch this. And alas, if you're in the go-along-to-get-along camp, you definitely do not want to watch this. 

If, however, you are ready to hear someone tell it like it is, you don't want to miss watching this video rant by Alfonzo Rachel.

This has got to be the greatest expression I have ever witnessed of the principles that should be dear to every conservative. Zo takes on the left, the GOP Establishment, and everyone in between. Instead of apologizing for our refusal to bend on social issues, such as abortion, he annihilates every mindset that is contrary to a respect for life, exposing it for what it really is: utter selfishness and evil. I have heard many a pro-life talk. I have heard none that holds a candle to this one. 

Furthermore, he holds nothing back as he speaks about Governor Palin and what she represents. Many people can tell you that she has been a target of the left and right, but how many can articulately explain precisely why? Zo can and does.

How Senator Palin Could 'Rehabilitate' the GOP

Recently, Bill Kristol appeared on ABC. He answered a reader's question about Sarah Palin and spoke of her value to the party, her loyal supporters, and her potential in politics. He went on to suggest that she "rehabilitate" herself by running for the Senate in 2014.

"Rehabilitate" isn't exactly the term one would use when thinking of Sarah Palin's contribution to conservatism. In fact, as proven in election after election, the only folks who seem to need rehabilitating are some of the experts in the GOP. Despite their criticism, the former Alaska governor has made great strides in reshaping the House and Senate. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Tim Scott, and Deb Fischer are just a few she helped across the finish line.

So it's absurd to claim that Palin needs to seek any kind of rehabilitation from the party. To the contrary, the GOP should be sucking up to her. And instead of smugly suggesting that they'd be doing her the favor in supporting a Senate run, the fact is that establishment Republicans almost need her to fulfill their hopes of a Senate takeover in 2014.

There are of course many benefits to a possible Palin candidacy and accompanying Senate win. Here are a few:

Her name recognition equals national fundraising.

The national Democrats are ready to throw anything they have at keeping the Senate in 2014. Doing so will help them co-opt the president's agenda in his final two years of office.

Securing the Alaska Senate seat for incumbent Mark Begich (D) gets them closer to that goal. Accordingly, he'll have the benefit of the major national Democrat donors. For the lesser-known GOP candidates who already exist in the primary race, they're not likely to have nearly as many national dollars coming in. With her massive popularity among Tea Party supporters all across the country, Palin could definitely even the fundraising score.

She's been fully vetted.

One peril of running a nationally unknown candidate is the increased likelihood of personal smears that are destined to be tossed their way (and to their respective families). This gives Mark Begich the luxury of staying on offense during the general campaign which takes emphasis off of his own shoddy record that includes voting with Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer 90% of the time. Currently, Begich seems to have some of those voters believing he's an independent or at worst, a conservative Democrat. Efforts will have to be made to inform voters that he supported raising the debt ceiling, voted for blanket amnesty, and gave a "yes" vote to ObamaCare.

As an established figure, Palin will be able to spotlight Begich's record every step of the way. Also, Begich's game of offense would be reduced to relying on failed smears about Palin put forth by the left since 2008 -- none of which have prevented her from being an effective political force for the right.

She can likely keep her PAC, continue her advocacy, and plan for a future White House run.

Two concerns prevent Palin supporters from wanting her in the Senate. First, they believe it diminishes her ability to act as an advocate. Others want "President" Palin or nothing at all.

Senators (past and present) like Barack Obama, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz have used social media, written books, and run for president while serving in the Senate. Senator Marco Rubio's name is all over the Reclaim America Political Action Committee.

So while anyone could (and should) be 100% grateful to all of Sarah Palin's efforts and projects outside of public office, acting as a Senator does not mean that any of those opportunities would diminish nor does it prevent her from making a White House run in the future.

She'd likely unite the GOP in the Senate and move it back to its core principles.

During nearly twenty years of public service for her state, Palin never once diverged from the ideals of small government and constitutional conservatism. At the same time, she has been able to work with those who didn't agree with her 100% of the time. While arguably being one of the greatest communicators we've had since Ronald Reagan, she brought Republicans and Democrats together to achieve various reform initiatives.

In the Senate, Palin could serve as the bridge between Tea Party legislators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and establishment veterans like John McCain. As a result, the party may finally begin to "rehabilitate" itself as it makes a fundamental shift back to its own core principles by making the Constitution its roadmap.

Of course, it goes without saying that Sarah Palin doesn't have to run for anything to be effective. That has been proven over and over again.

With all that being said, respected commentators like Bill Kristol could serve the party well by acknowledging the truth. The only ones in need of rehabilitation are the self-appointed experts in the GOP, not people like Sarah Palin who have actually gotten things done both in and out of public office.
