PPP found Palin had 36% support which is actually an increase on the 32%support found for her candidacy in the harper poll in May-32%! Also, note Palin's 62% approval rating in Harper and 65% in PPP.
Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller. Palin leads mostly based on her strength with ‘very conservative’ voters where she gets 43% to 20% for Treadwell, but she also leads him 28/25 with moderates.

Former Governor Sarah Palin leads a Republican primary ballot with the three most likely candidates: Palin, Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell and 2010 GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller. Palin leads slightly among both men and women at +1% and +4% respectively. Among voters who describe themselves as “very conservative”, Palin’s lead grows to 20% over Treadwell (43%-23%).
In a head-to-head match-up against Miller, who has officially formed an exploratory committee, Palin leads 52%-19%. Treadwell leads Miller 45%-26% in a hypothetical match-up.
Additionally, the survey measured voter opinion about key characteristics of the three Republican candidates. When asked which candidate would “fight hardest for conservative values”, voters decidedly chose Palin over Miller and Treadwell.
Among “somewhat conservative” and “very conservative” voters, Palin leads by +35% and +4% respectively.
When asked which candidate would be the “strongest person to take on liberal Democrats in Washington,” Alaska Republicans again picked Palin.
Of the three candidates, Governor Palin boasts the strongest image with 62% of GOP voters holding a favorable opinion of her.
